That About Covers It

After another few tries, I believe I have finally cracked the enigma that has been the cover to “Helping Hands.”

Helping Hands has taken longer than expected as I have been hard at work on the editing process.  Along the way, the entire style of the artwork changed and the cover (oh boy the cover), went through many versions.

All in all, I would have to say that I am proud how this book is turning out.  The book itself (like all of my other children’s books) was inspired by my son.  In fact, all of my books have been inspired by what he enjoys or what I would like to teach him.  Helping Hands is a bit of both.  As you read through the book, you will see that there is one page asking what these hands do and then the following page shows whose hands the belong to.

It all came about from watching my son progressing in his pretend play.  He’s been playing with hats and toys and watching his hands.  And that’s where the seed of Helping Hands came from.

I also wanted to ask kids out there that pick it up, “Who are the people in your neighborhood?”  – anyone else start singing that song?  Me too. 🙂

Right now, I am working on the final edits to both the art and the text.  After that, final adjustments will be completed as I use Kindle’s Kids’ Book Creator to put it together for publishing.

That about covers it.  More to come.  Stay tuned!
